The recognition of oral examination among national health examination by the residents of C area

Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives: Enhance the satisfactory level and examination ratio and provide baseline data for early treatment and prevention of oral diseases by conducting a survey on recognition of the National Oral Examination.
Methods: Frequency analysis, T-test, cross tabulation and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted over data of 280 respondents using SPSS ver.21.0.
Results: Following results were drawn by using the analytical methods above: 1.Among every gender, age group and occupation, percentage of respondents who took the National Oral Examination was lower than the General Health Examination. 2.Percentage of the respondents who chose ‘unawareness of the examination’ as a reason why they did not take the National Oral Examination was the highest among every gender, age group and occupation. 3.General Hospital is
the place where most of the respondents took the National Oral Examination among every gender, age group and occupation. 4. Most of the respondents agreed on the necessity of the National Oral Examination. 5.The most common response over the visit to a dental clinic after the examination was ‘Will not visit’. The result was identical in both genders and most of the age groups. 6. Male respondents chose the most ‘enabling independent examination in nearby dental clinic’ and ‘including oral examination as mandatory section in the General Health Examination’ as measures to vitalize the National Oral Examination, and female respondents chose the most ‘enabling independent examination in nearby dental clinic’.
Conclusions: Public relations, regulatory supports and policies for ease of the Oral Examination are required at once since the nationwide oral examination is central to measuring oral hygiene of the people.
